 | Do I need Microsoft Word? | | | Yes, you do! If you want your instructor to be able to open your documents and read them, you need to order Microsoft Word. Call our office at 1-888-325-2669 and tell us you need it. We'll fax you the contract that states you will not sell the software or give it to anyone else. You can then send it back to us with your check for $7.99 and we'll send you the software. (Microsoft Office costs $200-300 in most stores - we have a discount arrangement with Microsoft.)
| | | How do I access the videos for each course? | | | The videos can be accessed in several different ways, depending upon your comfort level with technology! You can lease the lecture series on VHS tape or CD-Rom. The CDs will also play in newer DVD players. You can order them when you order your books. The video lecture series can also be viewed in your Blackboard course via the Internet; this works best if you have hi-speed Internet access.

Student Teaching
|
 | How do I do student teaching at a distance? | | | Your "student" teaching experience will be guided by a team: You, your on-site mentor, and your ECLC supervising faculty. Following a carefully outlined syllabus, you will videotape yourself teaching 3-4 times during a quarter. (Your syllabus will tell you what type of activity you need to tape, such as an eating activity, a transition, etc.) After you've completed each taping assignment, you mail the tape to the ECLC offices where we put in on the web in your Blackboard course. Your UC supervisor will schedule a phone conference for your team, where you will all watch your video on the Internet and review your teaching demonstration. By the end of the third quarter, you'll be an expert teacher!
