welcome: Guest   The Early Childhood Learning Community

Current Location:   Department Of Defense

Through a special agreement with the Dept. of Defense, we are able to offer college credit for teachers who have completed the Child Care Infant Toddler Preschool-aged Training Modules as employees of the Child Development Services through Child and Youth Services. This agreement is applicable to all branches of the military.  In order to be considered, the teacher must meet the qualifications below and submit a copy of their IDP (or appropriate training form with signatures) to their academic advisor. Students officially receive advanced standing in their UC permanent academic record for the military modules after successfully completing an additional 9 hours in the ECLC program. School age modules are not a part of this agreement since ECLC is a preschool focused program.
  • Formal application for admission and matriculation into the online AAS ECE program with ECLC must be completed during the duration of this agreement between January 2007 and January 2010. Program Assistants must meet all admission criteria at time of application.
  • All coursework and degree requirements are available online and without a visit to Cincinnati.
  • Any transfer credit applied towards degree may replace advanced standing credit awarded for modules.
  • After successful completion of nine credit hours of early child education study after matriculation in the A.A.S. in ECE degree at UC with an overall GPA of 2.0, college credit advanced standing will be applied as follows:
